CLASS ONE: INTRODUCTION TO PROCESSING & CARE TECHNIQUES, HAND-TIED BOUQUETS
Our first class will get you comfortable handling and thinking about fresh flowers. Instruction on processing and care of materials, discussion on seasonality, vocabulary and defining primary, secondary and filler flowers. The origin and uses of hand-tied bouquets. Demonstration of types of hand-tied bouquets. hands-on experience creating your own hand-tied bouquet for you to take home.
CLASS TWO: THE BEAUTY AND DIVERSITY OF GREENS
This class will focus on the endless possibilities of foliage. Exotic leaves, variegated bushes, and slender grasses utilized in a variety of imaginative ways. A wonderful way to bring nature into your home. Focal arrangements, napkin treatments, candle treatments, wreaths, and more. Hands-on experience creating some of these projects. With take homes, of course!
CLASS THREE: CENTERPIECES
Building upon knowledge of hand-tied bouquets and leaf treatments, we will work together to create some of the most innovative centerpieces you have seen. You might be amazed that you will be able to accomplish some of these things by yourself. You will create your own centerpiece to take home.
CLASS FOUR: PERSONAL PROJECT
This class will require some homework turned in the week before: color swatches and a few snapshots of a particular area of your home-dining room, entryway, living room, as well as your favorite container for that area-perhaps a silver bowl, a ceramic cache-pot, an old copper pitcher. We will have discussed throughout the entire four class session your personal style and taste. We will now add to that your environment, the importance of bringing nature into it, and ways to do so. In this class you will conceive and create a custom-made floral design for your home.
